About us 

The purpose of the European Congress of Ethnic Religions (ECER) is to serve as an international body that will assist Ethnic Religious groups in various countries and will oppose discrimination against such groups. By Ethnic Religion, we mean religion, spirituality, and cosmology that is firmly grounded in a particular people’s traditions. In our view, this does not include modern occult or ariosophic theories/ideologies, nor syncretic neo-religions.

ECER bring together a diverse community to engage in meaningful discussions, keynote sessions, and interactive workshops. Through this, we aim to inspire new ideas, drive progress, and contribute to policymaking regarding the rights of ethnic religions in Europe.

The first European Congress of Ethnic Religions took place in Vilnius (Lithuania) in 1998, the 7th Congress was held in Athens (Greece) in 2004, organized by the Supreme Council of Ethnic Hellenes (YSEE).

We are privileged to announce that the 19th Congress returns to Athens. We are looking forward to see you in Athens during the 3 days of the Congress (October 3 – October 5, 2025) in Athens. YSEE is honored to host the conference in Athens for the second time in its history.

The Supreme Council of Ethnic Hellenes (YSEE) is the foremost organization advocating for the recognition, protection, and practice of the traditional Hellenic religion, values, and cultural heritage. Committed to historical accuracy and religious freedom, YSEE works to promote awareness and respect for the spiritual traditions of ancient Greece in the modern world.
